Welcome to Narangba Valley State School’s website. Opened in 2005, our school is proud to be an Independent Public School dedicated to providing high-quality education. We set high expectations, continually reflect on our practices, and nurture every child’s development within a supportive and inclusive environment.
Today, we are a vibrant co-educational school of approximately 1,000 students from Prep to Year 6. At the heart of our school culture is our commitment to equity and excellence, reflected in our motto: “Believe in yourself and Achieve your best.” Our values—Kindness, Belonging, Resilience and Do Your Best—guide everything we do, ensuring all students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.
Our teaching practices are enriched through the Berry Street Education Model, which equips our staff with research-based strategies across five key elements: relationships, understanding the body, stamina, character, and engagement. These practices help us create a calm, consistent and encouraging learning environment.
We value strong partnerships with families and believe that student success is built through a shared commitment between parents, students and the school. This partnership is reflected in our Learning Celebrations, Parent/Teacher interviews and the wonderful support of our Parents & Citizens Association.
Students at Narangba Valley State School benefit from a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities, including sport, music, robotics, the Arts and Wakakirri. Our Digital Technologies curriculum is taught from Prep to Year 6, with students in Years 3–6 having access to school-provided 1:1 iPads. Students in Years 3–6 also learn an additional language, with Japanese and Spanish offered by staff from Narangba Valley State High School and Indonesian taught by one of our local teachers. A strong focus on coaching, mentoring and high-quality professional development ensures our teachers continue to grow and deliver exceptional learning experiences.
We are fortunate to have a dedicated and highly professional teaching and support staff who go above and beyond—often outside school hours—to provide rich learning and extra-curricular opportunities for our students. Our Year 4–6 camping program is another highlight, helping students build character, independence and resilience.
I am incredibly proud to lead this wonderful school. The strength, enthusiasm and professionalism of our staff can be seen every day—in classrooms, on the playground and throughout our learning spaces. Our school is alive with learning, with coaching, training, encouraging and goal setting happening everywhere you look, all aimed at helping students become the very best version of themselves.
At Narangba Valley State School, we are committed to ensuring every child reaches their full potential and is equipped for success in their future pursuits. We look forward to working in partnership with you and welcoming your family into our school community.
