Teaching and learning

Narangba Valley State School staff work hard to provide learning experiences that ensure that every day, in every classroom, every student is achieving. Teachers use the following curriculum documents to deliver a high level of classroom teaching and to strive for continual improvement in all students.

Science Maths Academy (years 4-6)

Students from the Narangba Valley State School will have a unique opportunity to qualify for entry into a program specifically tailored to provide science and math experiences to enhance their learning and opportunities for their future.

Each fortnight students will be involved in a one hour component of the program at the primary school. On the alternate fortnight, students will visit Narangba Valley State High School campus for a day, and participate in the year level component of the program. They will do maths and science for a half day each.  Each year level will be visiting on a separate day and parents will be responsible for drop off and pick up.

A stringent selection process is in place to determine selection and invitation to the program. A waiting list will be maintained. An application through Narangba Valley State High School is required.
